The Power of Partnership: The Magic of Projector-Generator Bonds

Through the lens of Human Design - come 2027 - the future of our world will be largely dictated by the strength of partnership and unique interdependent bonds between the sacral and non-sacral beings.

The relationship between Projectors and Generators is particularly special.  It's Peanut Butter + Jelly.  When both are in their alignment, the results are exponential. It makes magic; it brings new vision, concepts and creations to life.

Long before I knew what Human Design was, life gifted me one of those magical pairings + relationships in 2015.

I am a Projector and La Reina, our studio manager at our healing arts studios, is a Manifesting Generator.  In hindsight, it's wild how naturally we were each playing our unique & interdependent roles, just by being exactly who we're designed to be. The more she was true to herself, the more it empowered me to be more true to my very-different-self. It exemplified the power of uniqueness; that when you are more fully you, it empowers me to be more fully me. And as we move from the homogeneity and conformity of the Cross of Planning era, and enter into the unabashedly individualistic era of the Cross of the Sleeping Phoenix in 2027, these types of bonds will be vital to our birthing new ways of living.

La Reina's entrance into my healing arts studio and business that year was what allowed us to grow from one to two to three to four studios over eight years.  As a sacral being, she LOVED the structure and focused energy of coming to the studio every day, being the consistent & familiar face of the business.  As a Mani-Gen, she thrived in the constant exchange of diverse energy with all the clients, therapists and teachers - every day was a little different - and she was the glue between everyone and everything, holding the structure & daily operations of multiple locations and constant goings-on.  She personifies that unique Mani-Gen ability to have a dozen plates spinning in the air behind her, yet appear completely present and calm, placid and cool as can be.  Ask her to pull out her calendar and she could show you a full calendar of perfectly slotted commitments six months in advance at any given moment.

With her operating fully in her alignment, I was able to completely be my Projector-self.  Most entrepreneurs have challenges when their business gets bigger - with La Reina’s presence, I actually got MORE aligned over time. Having fifty conversations a day, being the face of the business day-to-day was impossibly exhausting to me as a Projector. I became WAY more comfortable when I could be the unseen "seer" of things - the conjurer of the vision of things - vs. the operator and person “in charge.”  My role was to see, to observe, to listen… and then see how all the people and pieces and parts fit together in the most ideal and optimized way. See the system. Sense the energy. Imagine how all the disparate parts fit together. Preferably while alone - in my own aura - on a hike in the redwoods, laying in bed, or at an ungodly pre-dawn hour when the human world was silent.

Without consistent energy, I was free to work when I was aligned to do so... focusing in a way where I could get several months' worth of ideas locked in within a day or 2.  If I showed you my calendar you would see I never knew what I was doing six hours from now at any given moment; on my best days it was all white space where I could follow my intuition all day long, heading out into the community with no agenda or plan other than to make our work at the studios as visible as possible. La Reina was the soundboard and filter for every idea (vital for a Mental Projector like me) and it was when I spoke things to her that I could feel in my body and feel in her response whether something was a yes or a no.

Together, we could take an idea to action to execution to out in the world in lightning speed.  Having experienced a small glimpse of that, it gives me immense hope and inspiration for the future, when we will all work together in partnership to build the systems for a new era.

One of the things that people get confused about when Human Design says that Projector's "lead" the new paradigm - the thing that's so important to understand is very different about Projector leadership - is that Projectors do not lead by being over or above anyone.  Our success is based on the success of the Other; our success is based on the outcomes for All.  We will be visible as much as we must be for our vision to be seen and recognized, but energetically we thrive leading from behind, holding the frequency.

An aligned Projector leads with partnership.  With interdependence.  With relationship.  By seeing the unique potential of every single person, valuing the unique contribution of every person, and visioning the system that will serve everyone - the collective - in their best and highest potential.  Projectors see and guide and orchestrate, then we get out of the way and support the sacral beings in taking the stage, bringing the world to life in the 3D as an expression of their own passion, joy, mastery, beauty, and artistry.

Projector Leadership is a devotion to service, especially to the Generators, who in return give us the gift of recognition, invitation and energy/investment... Key to this is appreciating and embracing our differences… even celebrating them! I am forever grateful there was never a day I felt La Reina pressured me to be “more typical” or “work harder” or be more like her, and every day I was relieved that she possessed every strength and quality I did not.

All of us learning about each other, understanding, honoring and accommodating our difference is a flex for the future. When both beings - energy-types and non-energy types - are recognized, supported and in their unique alignment, it creates precisely the energetic partnership our world is evolving into.  Let's invite and bring it in.
