The Rise of Nature & Return to the Roots of Healing

As it stands, millions of Americans will lose their health insurance within the next three years. For millions more, their premiums will skyrocket… effectively forcing them out of mainstream medical coverage. With the extreme spike in premium costs across the board, healthy people will opt out of corporate coverage altogether… putting soaring costs squarely on the shoulders of the people who rely on the system - and its for-profit pharmaceutical drugs - the most.

Imagine what will happen when someone’s medications go from a $10 co-pay to hundreds of dollars a month. When there are no restrictions or controls on corporate pricing and prescription prices rise astronomically. When there is zero oversight or restrictions around who profits from prescription drugs and the people who regulate them. As it stands, we’re about to find out.

What does this mean for us: the people who support, advocate and rely on natural medicines for our health and well-being?? The guides, therapists and coaches supporting our communities in earth medicine practice? —> It’s time to get ready.

When the tide of human greed goes out, millions of Americans who relied on pharmaceutical interventions will be left stranded ashore, looking for other ways to take care of their mental, physical and emotional health. It will become more important than ever for us to collectively and compassionately move toward a mindset of prevention - educating one another, sharing stories, freeing each other from dependence on increasingly unaffordable, often-highly addictive prescription drugs - and lean into self-empowered natural healing & lifestyle medicine.

Microdosing guides, health coaches and therapists will be poised to support people when they need it most — collaborating with clinicians in tapering programs, helping individuals improve their mental health and well-being naturally with plant & fungi medicines, teaching people how to take care of their physical health before imbalance or illness arises.

With months to go, how can we all prepare to serve & support our communities?

  • Learning broadly from a diverse array of wellness practitioners across disciplines, learning from one another and being in collaboration. Stepping out of the silos of our individual professions and embracing new angles & fresh approaches from others so we can serve as a strong, diverse, interdependent team. Are you a doctor? Study energy medicine. Massage therapist? Dive into nutrition. Psychotherapist? Check out Human Design. Team up and collaborate with someone equally passionate but very different from you. Invite a healer from a complementary field to teach & share for your clients & community. Richly diverse, interdependence is the future of healing.

  • Learn about lifestyle medicine: the role of nutrition, sunlight, sleep, breathing through our noses, correct posture, yoga and martial arts, friendship & community, strength training & movement, breathwork, dancing and music — simple, freely accessible things available to all of us. Many of the most healing, health-promoting habits are freely abundant and all around us… no pills, permission or prescriber required. Education, advocacy, normalization and sharing are the keys.

  • Expand our awareness to include other cultures, indigenous healing, ancient practices coming to fresh life again - Ayurveda, Native American ritual, Chinese Medicine, Reiki, dream work and more all possess so much wisdom for us to tap into and share.

  • Learn about natural medicines and microdosing: Kanna, Cacao, Psilocybin Mushrooms, Amanita muscaria, cactus and herbal medicines have been used for centuries for healing and spiritual development. Become knowledgeable about natural medicines and guiding others in their use. The next round of our Microdosing Facilitator Training begins September 23, and you can explore an array of unique, experienced professional guides in our global Microdosing Directory HERE.

In the years ahead, we’ll need to work together to radically reduce our dependency on the broken, for-profit health care system - sometimes by choice, but increasingly by necessity.

We’ll need to put more emphasis on preventing the afflictions we once waited to treat: diabetes, dementia, bone loss, cognitive decline, depression, Alzheimer’s, insomnia, menopause symptoms, anxiety… and as imbalances creep in, be able to offer natural remedies or accessible interventions to restore & nurture healing at the root.

Once upon a time, we treated one another and healed with food, healed with nature, healed with the elements, healed in connected community, healed within spiritual frameworks. We were guided by the seasons and the stars, the elements and heavenly bodies.

It’s no coincidence that Nature is rising again - today - to remind us she’s been here for us all the while. Now it’s up to us to witness anew, listen again, re-learn and reorient ourselves to our earth and its sacred wisdom once again, and share those gifts with others.
